Consumer Surveys
Whether you want a speedy straw poll, a headline survey designed solely to generate publicity, or full-scale national opinion poll research, our customer surveys can provide it. We're happy to interview just 100 or 200 people, or we can handle up to 2000 interviews, though headline survey sizes of 500 or 1000 are more typical. We differ from many omnibus survey firms because we guarantee the number of interviews no matter what the subject – so if you order a survey of 500, you know that you will get results from at least 500 interviews.
Our surveys are usually telephone polls, but can be face to face, and are conducted using reliable methods that will stand up to scrutiny by journalists, or by anyone who needs to know that the results are dependable. Generally we don't recommend online polling because we believe our fully representative methods, which include the widest possible population sample, offer the maximum possible success with the media. However, there are instances where an online poll is a good idea, particularly with surveys based around "techie" themes, and we can provide them.
We will generally cover all regions of the country in our projects, though we can home in on just one region or even just one town if required. Most consumer surveys are of the general population, but they can be limited by age, gender, profession, family or social type - or anything else relevant to the result. We have interviewed only blondes for one project, and cheese-lovers for another!
National Opinion Poll Research
We follow the protocols in all our surveys, whatever their size, so that the results are clear and reliable. But unlike most other consumer survey companies, we interview in depth, using journalistic techniques. We aim to give not simply statistics but a feel for the real people who are behind those statistics, for example by including any interesting comments made by interviewees. This gives our consumer surveys breadth, making them attractive as features material as well as providing news angles.
